Varitronics®’
new Variquest™ Poster Maker 3600 is their ProImage® XL
3000 model wrapped up in a new look. It’s old
technology at a very expensive price. The system offers a
few more bells and whistles, all for a list price of about
$6000. Customers think they are getting the latest and
greatest, instead its just about the same machine
Varitronics has been selling for the past several
years. But the big surprise for the customer is the
paper roll prices & colors. (see
our poster printer
paper colors)
In every
poster printer model before, you had a choice of shopping
for your poster paper from a vendor other than just
Varitronics®. Not anymore. With this machine, you have
only one choice. Why? Because they want you to only buy
paper from Varitronics® at their prices. No more paper
color choices, no more competitive pricing and no more
savings of up to $26 per roll Vs. Varitronics® pricing!
Each
paper roll now comes with their own end caps
built in along with a computer chip (left). Previous
models including the 3000 versions used the same end cap
over and over. This computer chip is now read by the
machine from a sensor on the right side of the end cap
carriage (right). This set up requires the end user
to purchase their paper rolls ONLY from their
Varitronics® dealer. One source and one expensive
price. And if you own a previous model, you will now
be inventorying two different sets of paper rolls.
They are not inter changable!
Remember, the poster printer doesn’t use any ink or
toner, just paper. If you think the poster printer is
expensive, just wait till you start paying Varitronics®’
paper prices no matter what they may go to in the future.
So when you’re
making that poster printer choice, make it
very carefully. Ask for pricing on the ProImage™
Plus 3000 & the ProImage™ XL 3000 not just on the
Poster Maker 3600. Or, consider refurbished
equipment poster printers and really save a lot! This
way you’ll have choices of poster
paper vendors and saving as much as $26 per roll Vs.
Varitronics® and their dealer pricing.
Remember
it’s not what you pay for that printer today, it’s
what you’re paying for the paper tomorrow!
